The resident sororstitute (alumna) speaks...

Aight, bitches. I figured it was high time I got on here (and Nick reminded me that I'd gotten caught up in law school insanity and forgotten to ever post) and give y'all a much needed update. So, first, HI! I've miss you all! Oh, and this is Helen, btw, like you wouldn't know from the sororstitute comment. Now, for an update...

I'm presently at home in Oregon, and will be for the next, oh, three weeks. I get to see Nick, which is loverly, considering the last few years it's been sporadic, at best, when we get to hang out. What am I doing home for so long, you ask? Well, I managed to come out this semester without a single exam (yeah, they hate me at school), so I took off and came back to the land o' the duck. I'm thrilled to be home, but missing Indiana (this has never before happpened, I swear). I think it might have to do with the nostalgia that's starting to hit, and the realization that I soon will be settling down in one place for a long time (I think, and hope). Why? Well, we'll get to that right quick.

In January, I will be starting my very last semester of school, ever (unless I get nutsy and decide I actually want to be Dr. Helen and go back for my PhD or decide I need an MBA, which I most seriously doubt). Yup, I am really, truly, almost a lawyer. In fact, I'm 10 credit hours, and two days worth of a seriously hellacious exam (*fingers crossed*) away from being a full-fledged, practicing attorney. Scary, isn't it? ;) As most of you know, I've been at IU Bloomington for the past two and half years (I expect visits next spring!). It's been nice, but let me say, everything pales in comparison to our wonderous alma mater. I mean, Bloomington ain't bad, but it's no A2. I guess everyone always has a spot in their heart for their alma mater that cannot be usurped.

When I finish, I'm planning on heading back out toward the Pacific. What exactly it is that I'll be doing, I haven't yet decided. Hopefully, I'll make a decision soon, and then y'all will know what it is that I'll be doing next year. In the meantime, I will slave away one final semester as a grad student, then have no life or vacation time for years and years to come. Damn, being a grown-up is gonna suck.

Palmer 5 Love and Happy Holidays to All!
Helen

P.S. Emily, please forgive me for any crap I used to give you about Harry Potter. I am obsessed. I love him. I love J.K. Rowling. I love the universe. I love Quiddich. I love Hedwig. Dumbledore cannot be dead. And Snape can kiss my arse. ;)

P.P.S. A request of sorts... I think I can usually decipher who it is that has posted (read: Nick, lol), but since it is sometimes ambiguous, will everyone be awesome and just sign a name or something else that makes it your own? Thank you!

P.P.P.S. Anyone on MySpace or Facebook that I haven't already added?
